7. James C² Barlow (John Nicholas¹)⁽¹⁷⁸⁾ was born Montgomery Co, Illinois 1839. James died 1918 in Grisham Twp, Montgomery Co, IL, at 79 years of age. Buried at buried in the Mt. Pulaski Cemetery at Grisham Township, Montgomery County

He married Sarah L Compton Montgomery Co, Illinois, November 7, 1867. Sarah was born Illinois 1843. (Additional notes for Sarah L Compton⁽¹⁷⁹⁾) In the 1880 census Cottonwood Grove, Bond Co, Illinois page 156, James (age 37) is recorded with his wife Sarah (age 37), Mary (age 10), Seely (age 9), William (age 5), Finter (age 1). James is noted as a farmer.

James C Barlow and Sarah L Compton had the following children:

17 ii. Seely A Barlow was born Illinois 1871.

18 iii. William E Barlow was born Illinois 1875.

19 iv. Finter Barlow was born Illinois 1879.
