9. Anthony² Arnold (John (Johannes)¹) was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA June 6, 1823. Anthony died December 1, 1885 in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA, at 62 years of age.

He married Elizabeth Marsh in Monroe Co, PA, about 1849. Elizabeth was born in Pennsylvania June 10, 1830. Elizabeth died May 28, 1906 at 75 years of age. In the 1850 census Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co PA page 19, Anthony (age 23) is living with Elizabeth (age 20) and Samuel (age 1). Anthony has the occupation of carpenter and has a property value of $400. There are a number of Arnold families living in the area and most likely are related.

In the 1860 census Ross Twp, Monroe Co PA page 715, Anthony (age 36) is living with Elizabeth (age 31), Samuel (age 11), Joseph (age 9), Anna (age 10), Alvin (age 8), Martha (age 7), Susan (age 6), Jacob (age 4) and William (age 2). Anthony has the occupation of carpenter and has a real estate property value of $600 and personal of $200.

In the 1870 census Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co PA page 77, Anthony (age 47) is living with Elizabeth (age 40), Samuel (age 20), Alvin (age 16), Susan (age 15), Amanda (age 13), Emma (age 10), Alice (age 8), Stewart (age 6), Delilah (age 4) and Ida (age 1). Anthony has the occupation of farmer and has a real estate property value of $4000 and personal of $1185.

In the 1880 census Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co PA page 283, Anthony (age 55) is living with Elizabeth (age 49), Emma (age 19), Stewart (age 15), Delilah (age 14) and Ida (age 11). Arnold has the occupation of Farmer.

Anthony Arnold and Elizabeth Marsh had the following children:

13 i. Samuel Milton³ Arnold⁽¹¹⁰⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA April 6, 1850. Samuel died December 13, 1890 at 40 years of age. He married Susan Werkheiser about 1879. Susan was born in Pennsylvania November 3, 1827. Susan was the daughter of Charles Werkeiser and Elizabeth unknown. Susan died June 20, 1897 at 69 years of age. In the 1880 census Ross, Monroe, Pennsylvania page 383, Samuel (age 29) is living with his wife Susan (age 30) and step-son William Edward Becker (age 2).

14 ii. Elizabeth Ann Arnold⁽¹¹¹⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA November 6, 1851. Anna died May 23, 1924 at 72 years of age. She married twice. She married Charles Hopple about 1873. Charles was born in Pennsylvania 1843. Charles died March 1880 at 36 years of age. In the 1870 census Plainfield Twp, Northampton Co PA page 406, a James Hopple (age 27) is working on the farm of George Brallize? She married James Getz about 1882. James was born about 1850.

+ 15 iii. Joseph Henry Arnold was born December 20, 1852.

16 iv. Alvin E Arnold⁽¹¹²⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA January 8, 1854. Alvin died July 13, 1934 Easton, Northampton Co, PA, at 80 years of age. Buried in the Easton Cemetery He married Mary A Smale about 1880.

Mary was born January 18, 1863. Mary died September 11, 1931 at 68 years of age. Buried in the Easton Cemetery

17 v. Martha Jane Arnold was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA July 27, 1855. Martha died November 15, 1861 in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA, at 6 years of age.

18 vi. Susanna Amelia Arnold⁽¹¹³⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA October 6, 1856. She married three times. She married unknown Charles. Unknown was born about 1856. She married John Haines. John was born about 1856. She married George Evan Rasley in Pennsylvania, about 1878. George was born in Pennsylvania 1844. (See George Evan Rasley for the continuation of this line.)

19 vii. Jacob Erwin Arnold was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA October 30, 1857.

20 viii. Sylvester William Arnold was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA November 27, 1858. Sylvester died December 3, 1861 in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA, at 3 years of age.

21 ix. Amanda Ellen Arnold⁽¹¹⁴⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA May 31, 1860. Amanda died 1928 in Northampton Co., Pa, at 68 years of age. She married Charles Henry Lehr in Northampton Co., Pa, 1878. Charles was born in Plainfield Twp, Northampton Co., PA October 16, 1859. Charles was the son of Tilghman Lehr and Sabina Werkheiser. Charles died 1939 in Northampton Co., Pa, at 79 years of age. Some discrepance as to the death year. Some sources have it as 1947. (See Charles Henry Lehr for the continuation of this line.)

22 x. Emma Catherine Arnold⁽¹¹⁵⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA July 28, 1861. Emma died 1945 at 83 years of age. She married Martin Kessler in Pennsylvania, 1885. Martin was born in Pennsylvania July 1856. (See Martin Kessler for the continuation of this line.)

23 xi. Mary Alice Arnold was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA September 13, 1862. Mary died December 21, 1922 at 60 years of age. She married Robert Willauer about 1880. Robert was born August 7, 1858. Robert died August 26, 1898 at 40 years of age.

24 xii. Stewart Wilson Arnold⁽¹¹⁶⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA August 28, 1864. He married Amanda A Buskirk. Amanda was born March 11, 1868. Amanda died March 14, 1941 at 73 years of age.

25 xiii. Dililah Atna Arnold⁽¹¹⁷⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA February 2, 1866. She married Leanord Altemus in Pennsylvania, 1890. Leanord was born in Pennsylvania January 1859. i0 In the 1900 census 33 Ward Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania page 209, Altemus (age 41) is living with his wife Tillie (age 34). They have been married for 10 years. He is a carpenter and they rent their home.

26 xiv. Ida Arnold⁽¹¹⁸⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co, PA 1869. She married Ulysses G Yoder. Ulysses was born in Hilltown Twp, Bucks Co, PA April 23, 1870. Ulysses died June 26, 1944 at 74 years of age. i0 In the 1880 census Hilltown, Bucks, Pennsylvania page 283
