11. John³ Bellis (John², John H¹) was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ January 8, 1828. John died January 31, 1907 at 79 years of age.

He married twice. He married Amy M Rittenhouse in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, November 27, 1853. Amy was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey April 6, 1834. Amy was the daughter of Andrew Bray Rittenhouse and Elizabeth Mettler. Amy died May 10, 1858 Delaware Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 24 years of age. He married Rachel Ann Rittenhouse in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, October 17, 1863. Rachel was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey September 20, 1832. Rachel was the daughter of James Rittenhouse and Abigail Mattison. Rachel died July 22, 1896 at 63 years of age. In 1856 a Post Office was established at Locktown and he received the appointment of postmaster

In the 1860 census Locktown, Deleware Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 402, John (age 32) is recorded with Andrew (age 5) and Catherine Robison (age 60). John is recorded as a merchant.

John Bellis and Amy M Rittenhouse had the following children:

27 i. Andrew R⁴ Bellis was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1854. He married Mary Elizabeth Snyder October 7, 1876. Lizzie was born 1856. Lizzie died 1930 at 74 years of age.

28 ii. Mary Bellis was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1858. Mary died about 1858. She died in infancy

John Bellis and Rachel Ann Rittenhouse had the following children:

29 iii. Wilmer Bellis was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey March 13, 1866. Wilmer died 1925 Flemington, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 59 years of age. He married Anna Elizabeth Morris. Anna was born 1866.

30 iv. Amy Catherine Bellis was born October 4, 1867. Amy died September 2, 1894 at 26 years of age. She married Manning F Sherman. Manning was born about 1867.
