1. Uriah¹ Akers was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 30, 1803. Uriah died August 13, 1888 at 84 years of age.

He married Elizabeth Closson in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, March 20, 1830. Elizabeth was born in Pennsylvania 1814. In the 1870 census West Amwell, Hunterdon, New Jersey page 418, Uriah (age 66) is recorded with his wife Elizabeth (age 56) and Uriah (age 19). Uriah is a laborer born in NJ.

In the 1880 census West Amwell, Hunterdon, New Jersey page 197, Uriah (age 76) is recorded with his wife Elizabeth (age 66). Uriah is a laborer born in NJ.

Uriah Akers and Elizabeth Closson had the following children:

2 i. Thomas² Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1831. Thomas died 1832 in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 1 year of age.

3 ii. Mary Elizabeth Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1832. She married Edward P Leonard. Edward was born in New Jersey 1830. (See Edward P Leonard for the continuation of this line.)

4 iii. Camilla Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1834. She married George T Moore. George was born in New Jersey 1834. George was the son of David Moore and Mary Rounsavell.

+ 5 iv. Adner Akers was born 1836.

6 v. Joanna Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1837. Joanna died 1838 in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 1 year of age.

7 vi. Ruth Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1839. Ruth died 1855 in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 16 years of age.

8 vii. Sarah Catherine Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1840. She married John Coffey about 1862. John was born about 1840.

9 viii. Levina Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1842. In the 1860 census West Amwill Hunterdon Co NJ page 450, Lavina (age 17) is recorded with hte Alexander Holcombe family. Abner (age 24) is also recorded here.

10 ix. Charlotte Akers⁽³⁸⁾ was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ May 1846. Charlotte died 1935 at 89 years of age. She married Elwood Kitchen in New Jersey, 1866. Elwood was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 1843. Elwood⁽³⁹⁾ was the son of Jonathan P Kitchen and Catherine Agin. Elwood died 1920 at 76 years of age. 11 x. Anna Akers was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1847. She married Elijah Green about 1868. Elijah was born about 1847.

12 xi. Emma M Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1847. She married Ely Green. Ely was born about 1845.

13 xii. Louisa Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1849.

14 xiii. Uriah J Akers was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1851. Uriah died 1873 at 22 years of age.

15 xiv. Samuel H Akers was born in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1853. Samuel died 1866 in West Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 13 years of age.
