1. Richard R¹ Boss was born in New Jersey July 1852.

He married Sarah G Barrass in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, January 22, 1874. Sarah was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ July 1856. Sarah⁽⁴³⁰⁾ was the daughter of Edward Thomas Barrass and Mary Ann Pittenger. In the 1880 census Stockton, Hunterdon, New Jersey page 19, Richard (age 28) is recorded with his wife Sarah (age 28), Nora (age 6), Bertha (age 4), David (age 11m) and Permelia (age 55) Richard's mother. Richard has the occupation of a Dry Good and Grocer.

In the 1900 census 27 North Herritage Ave, Trenton Mercer Co NJ page 321, Richard (age 48) is recorded with his wife Sarah (age 43), Lenora (age 23), David (age 19), They have been married for 27 years and have had 4 children. Richard is a wood turner and he owns his mortgaged home.

Richard R Boss and Sarah G Barrass had the following children:

2 i. Lenora M² Boss was born in New Jersey July 1876.

3 ii. Bertha L Boss was born in New Jersey May 1878. She married Charles C Horn in New Jersey, 1900. Charles was born in New Jersey July 1874.

4 iii. David B Boss was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey July 1879.

5 iv. Ernest G Boss was born in New Jersey December 1890.
