1. Hugh M¹ Lisle was born in Belmont Co, Ohio March 15, 1857. Hugh died August 18, 1934 in Linden, Dallas Co, IA, at 77 years of age.

He married Mary Alice Crouse Cass Twp, Gunthrie Co, IA, December 1, 1881. Allie was born Panora, Cass Twp, Guthrie Co, IA November 27, 1861. Allie was the daughter of Winston Crouse and Mary Stephens. Allie died June 21, 1949 in Linden, Dallas Co, IA, at 87 years of age. In the 1900 census Linn Township, Dallas County, Iowa page 221, Hugh (age 43) is recorded with his wife Mary (age 38), Ada (age 16, Edith (age 13), Mable (age 11), Evan (age 7), and Lois (age 3). They have been married for 18 years and have had 5 children. Hugh is recorded as a farmer and owns his farm with a mortgage.

Hugh M Lisle and Mary Alice Crouse had the following children:

3 ii. Edith Lisle was born in Dallas Co, Iowa July 1886.

4 iii. Mable J Lisle was born in Dallas Co, Iowa October 1888.

5 iv. Evan H Lisle was born in Dallas Co, Iowa June 1892.

6 v. Lois Lisle was born in Dallas Co, Iowa October 1896.
