n the 1860 census Union Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page , Joseph (age 42) is recorded with Lurenda (age 38), Elijah (age 13), Joseph (age 4), and Josias (age 52). Joseph is a farmer born in NJ. They are recorded between Henry (age 54) and William (age 49) Maxwell.

In the 1870 census Union Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page 405, Joseph (age 53) is recorded with Lurenda (age 50), Joseph (age 14), Josias (age 62) and Rachel Hoagland (age 74). Joseph is a farmer born in NJ.

In the 1880 census Union Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page 402, Joseph (age 64) is recorded with Lurinda (age 60),

Joseph Maxwell and Larenda Aston had the following children:

3 i. Elijah A³ Maxwell was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1846.
