23. Charles⁴ McClure (John³, Unknown², unknown¹) was born in Cumberland Co, PA 1739. Charles died February 8, 1811 in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA, at 71 years of age. buried at Carlisle Cemetery

He married three times. He married Amelia Blair in Cumberland Co, PA, about 1782. Amelia was born 1765. Amelia died February 1, 1795 at 29 years of age. He married Anna Blair in Cumberland Co, PA, about 1796. He married Rebecca Blair Parker in Cumberland Co, PA, about 1799. Rebecca was born 1763. Rebecca died April 23, 1826 at 62 years of age. widow of Major Alexander Parker, of Carlisle He died at Willow Grove Farm on Letort's Spring, near Carlisle, Pennsylvania, February 8, 1811, and is buried at Carlisle Cemetery. Some years after the death of his father in 1757, he came into possession of the eastern part of the home farm. He built at least in part the stone mansion house which still stands. He also built and operated a grist mill, the remains of which can yet be distinctly traced. During the Revolutionary War, he rendered efficient service as an organizer, as many of his papers that have been preserved would indicate. He was a prominent and most respected citizen

73 i. John⁵ McClure⁽³⁵⁷⁴⁾ was born in Middleton, Cumberland Co, PA March 1784. John died March 20, 1841 at 57 years of age. He married Jane Blair in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA, about 1809. Jane was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA May 1785. Jane died August 13, 1864 at 79 years of age.

74 ii. Mary Blair McClure⁽³⁵⁷⁵⁾ was born in Middleton, Cumberland Co, PA about 1787. She married Joseph Knox in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA, March 9, 1812. (Additional notes for Joseph Knox⁽³⁵⁷⁶⁾)

Charles McClure and Rebecca Blair Parker had the following children:

75 iii. Charlotte McClure was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA January 7, 1800. Charlotte died January 25, 1880 in Chicago, Cook Co, IL, at 80 years of age.

76 iv. Rebecca McClure was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA November 1800. She married Elisha White in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA, about 1826. Elisha was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA about 1800.

77 v. Charles McClure was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA August 1804. He married Margaretta Gibson in Washington Co, PA, November 5, 1833. Margaretta was born in Cumberland Co, PA about 1815.

78 vi. William Blair McClure was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA April 11, 1807. He married Lydia Spencer Collins in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA, about 1827. Lydia was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA about 1809.
