4. William² McClure (James Arthur¹)⁽³⁵⁴³⁾ was born in Raphoe, Donegal, N. Ireland 1685. William died August 1761 in Augusta Co, Va, at 76 years of age.

William McClure appears to have lived on the plantation of his son Andrew, adjoing that of his brother James. He witnessed James, His brother's will on 23 Sep 1756 but died intestate prior to 18 Aug 1761 the date of the probate.

William McClure had the following children:

14 i. Hugh³ McClure was born about 1709. Hugh died 1782 in Augusta Co, Va, at 73 years of age. He married Eleanor McClure about 1755. Eleanor died 1799. Member of Capt Hugh Thompson's Militia

15 ii. William McClure was born about 1711. William died 1794 in Bourbon Co, KY, at 83 years of age. He married Elizabeth Kerr December 1769. Elizabeth was born about 1749.

16 iii. Josias McClure was born about 1713. Josias died 1817 in Augusta Co, Va, at 104 years of age. He married Jane Johnson about 1735. Jane was born about 1750. Jane died August 1815 at 65 years of age.

17 iv. John McClure was born in Raphoe, Donegal, N. Ireland about 1715. John died about 1789 in Rockingham Co, Virginia. He married Mary unknown. Mary was born about 1715.

18 v. Andrew McClure was born in Raphoe, Donegal, N. Ireland 1720. Andrew died July 1789 in Augusta Co, Va, at 69 years of age. He married Eleanor Wright in Augusta Co, Va, 1742. Eleanor was born 1723.

19 vi. David McClure was born 1735.
