He married Elizabeth Emmons Delaware Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, June 3, 1854. Elizabeth was born in New Jersey May 4, 1829. Elizabeth died December 30, 1902 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 73 years of age. In the 1860 census Baptistown Kingwood Twp Hunterdon Co, NJ page 33, Asher G Venselous (age 34) is recorded with Eliza (age 31), Gershem (age 3), and Smith (age 1). Asher has the occupation of farmer with a property value of $2,250 and personal value of $300.

In the 1870 census Baptistown Kingwood Twp Hunterdon Co, NJ page 224B, A.G. Venselous (age 47) is living with Eliza (age 43), Gershem (age 15), Smith (age 12), Mary C (age 8) and Simon (age 4). A.G. has the occupation of farmer with a property value of $3,500 and personal value of $800.

In the 1880 census Kingwood, Hunterdon, New Jersey page 66, Asher (age 56) is recorded with his wife Eliza (age 51), Mary (age 18), Simeon (age 15), William (age 9), and Uriah (age 6).

In the 1900 census Kingwood Twp. Hunterdon Co NJ page 171A, Asher (age 76) is living with his wife Elza (age 71) and son William (age 28). They have been married for 42 years and have 8 children with 6 still living at the time of the census. Asher is a stone mason and he rents his home.

Asher Gordon Vanselous and Elizabeth Emmons had the following children:

28 ii. Smith Emmons Vanselous was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1858. Smith died 1953 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 95 years of age. Buried in Frenchtown Cemetery Frenchtown, Hunterdon Co., NJ He married twice.

He married Rachel J Wilson in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, February 14, 1880. Rachel was born about 1860. Rachel was the daughter of Joseph Clinton Wilson and Mary Ellen Kerr. He married Helen Cook in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, October 27, 1887. Helen was born about 1870.

29 iii. Mary Catherine Vanselous was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1861.

30 iv. Simeon S Vanselous was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ February 3, 1865. Simeon died 1948 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 83 years of age. Buried in Frenchtown Cemetery Frenchtown, Hunterdon Co., NJ He married Annie R Britton in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, December 24, 1886.

Annie was born about 1866.

31 v. William M Vanselous⁽⁵⁴⁰⁸⁾ was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ January 1871.

+ 32 vi. Uriah E Vanselous was born September 2, 1873.
