17. Charles⁴ Trimmer (John Herbert³, Herbert², Johannes¹) was born in New Jersey 1796.

He married Mary Roberson about 1814. Mary was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey July 26, 1794. Mary⁽⁵³¹¹⁾ was the daughter of John R Roberson and Lovina Thatcher. Mary died February 1, 1852 New York, at 57 years of age. In the 1850 census Geneseo Livingston Co NY page 368, Charles (age 53) is recorded with Mary (age 56), George (age 25), Sarah (age 18), Mary (age 16), Jane (age 20), and Henry Whitman (age 17).

Charles Trimmer and Mary Roberson had the following children:

30 i. Augustus⁵ Trimmer⁽⁵³¹²⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1820. He married Phoebe Brown. Phoebe was born about 1820.

+ 31 ii. John R Trimmer was born 1821.

32 iii. George Trimmer was born in Livingston Co, New York 1824. He married Elizabeth Anderson. Elizabeth was born about 1824.

33 iv. Mahala Trimmer⁽⁵³¹³⁾ was born in Livingston Co, New York 1827. She married Samuel O Roberson about 1842. Samuel was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 24, 1815. Samuel was the son of John Roberson and Grace Opdyke. Samuel died about 1885 in Livingston Co, New York. (See Samuel O Roberson for the continuation of this line.)

34 v. Jane Trimmer was born in Livingston Co, New York 1829. She married Daniel M Vansyckle. Daniel was born about 1829.

35 vi. Sarah Trimmer was born in Livingston Co, New York 1831.

36 vii. Mary Trimmer was born in Livingston Co, New York 1833.
