1. Edward¹ Townsend⁽⁵²⁸¹⁾ was born 1799. Edward died November 25, 1825 in Athens, PA, at 26 years of age.

He married Elizabeth Erwin in Steuben Co, NY, November 22, 1821. Elizabeth was born Easton, Northampton Co, PA October 15, 1801. Elizabeth⁽⁵²⁸²⁾ was the daughter of Samuel F Erwin and Eva Regina Heckman. Elizabeth died December 28, 1883 at 82 years of age. She fell Dec. 16th fracturing her wrist & hip from which injuries she died

Edward Townsend and Elizabeth Erwin had the following children:

2 i. infant² Townsend was born December 1823. Infant died December 15, 1823 at less than one year of age.

3 ii. Edward Erwin Townsend was born January 23, 1825. Edward died September 25, 1898 in Painted Post, Steuben Co, NY, at 73 years of age.
