374. William Oliver12 Godown (Oliver11, Samuel10, Richard S9, John8, Evans7, Jacob6, Jacob5 Goedowne, Abraham4, Jacob3 Godon, Abraham2, Main Family Line1 Godown)(1714) was born Bucks Co, Pennsylvania August 18, 1898. William died July 1972 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 73 years of age.

He married Bessie Crips in New Jersey, 1922. Anna was born in New Jersey March 6, 1906. Anna(1715) was the daughter of William Crips and Martha M Buchanan. Anna died March 1987 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 81 years of age. Williams WWII registration card dated Sept 12, 1918 lists him as living at 68 York Rd, Lambertville, Hunterdon Co NJ. He lists Annie Godown as next of Kin. He is listed a medium height, and Slender build.

In the 1920 census Lambertville Hunterdon Co, page 212A, William (age 21) is living with his sister Sarah. Looks like his occupation is Rubber factory worker but is a little distorted.

In the 1930 census 264 Union street Lambertville Hunterdon Co, NJ page 25, William (age 31) is recorded with his wife Anna (age 24), Robert (age 4y1m), and Doris (age 1y11m) and step father Henry Putcher (age 70). Henry Putcher is actually Anna's step father. Willian is noted as being a porter caster.

child 547 ii. Doris Elizabeth Godown(1716) was born Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ April 11, 1929. Doris died August 27, 2001 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 72 years of age. She married Andrew John Zambella Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, August 2, 1947. Gump was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 18, 1923. Gump(1717) was the son of John Zambella and Mary unknown. Gump died November 1974 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 50 years of age. (See Andrew John Zambella for the continuation of this line.) Obituary: LAMBERTVILLE -- Doris Godown Zambella, 72, died Monday Sept 3, 2001 at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown, Pa.

Born in Lambertville, she was a lifelong resident. She retired from Pitman Moore, Titusville, and had worked with Toll Lace Works and the South Hunterdon Regional High School Cafeteria. She currently worked with D&C Printing, New Hope, Pa.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary society and Hiberni Fire Squad Co. ladies auxiliary, where she was secretary for 40 years. She was a past member of Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad ladies auxiliary.

Daughter of the late William and Bessie Cripps Godown, wife of the late Andrew Zambella and sister of the late Robert Godown, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Donna Zambella of West Amwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Daniel Feller of Lambertville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Jim Hash of Appomattox, Va., and Dorothy and Ken Hagans of Shingle House, Pa.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William Godown, Arthur and Patricia Godown, all of Lambertville, and Charles and Carmella Godown of West Amwell; and a grandson, Andrew J. Zambella.

Funeral will be 9 a.m. Friday from Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge St.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
