1. Charles F¹ Hunt was born in New Jersey 1824.

He married Elizabeth C Taylor about 1847. Elizabeth was born Frenchtown, Hunterdon Co, NJ July 10, 1827. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas C Taylor and Sarah Ann Stryker. In the 1860 census Brooklyn, New York City, New York, page 608, Charles (age 35, NJ) is recorded with Elizabeth (age 33,NJ), William (age 7,Conn), Josephine (age 4,Conn), Joseph (age 3, Conn), and Caroline (age 1,Conn). Charles has no occupation listed.

In the 1870 census New York City, New York, page 53, Charles (age 44, NJ) is recorded with Elizabeth (age 43,NJ), William (age 17,Conn), Josephine (age 14,Conn), Julia (age 12, Conn), George (age 7,NY), and Cora (age 6,NY). Charles, as a carriage maker.

In the 1880 census Manhattan, New York City, New York, page 477, Charles (age 53, NJ) is recorded with Elizabeth (age 52,NJ), George (age 17,NY), Cora (age 14,NY), Frank Kenny (age 23,NY) and John Reilly (age 24,IRE). Charles, Frank and John work in the carriage factory.

Charles F Hunt and Elizabeth C Taylor had the following children:

2 i. William² Hunt was born in Connecticut 1852.

3 ii. Josephine Hunt was born in Connecticut 1855.

4 iii. Joseph Hunt was born in Connecticut 1856.

5 iv. Caroline Julia Hunt was born in Connecticut 1858. In the 1870 census a Julia is recorded as 12, so I have assumed these are the same individual.

6 v. George Hunt was born in Long Island, New York 1862.

7 vi. Cora B Hunt was born in Long Island, New York 1863.
